Accident Disability

Group Accident Disability Insurance

If you were to suffer a serious accident, the Group Accident Disability Insurance plan could provide you and your family solid financial protection, with three layers of coverage in one unique plan.

The Group Accident Disability Insurance plan features three layers of coverage to help give you the most protection possible if a non-job-related accident should disrupt your day-to-day life:

  1. Hospital Accident Insurance pays you a cash benefit to use as you see fit for each day you’re confined to a hospital as a result of a covered accident (for up to 500 days).

  2. If your injuries are serious enough that you’re unable to return to work for longer than a month, the second layer, Disability Income Insurance, provides a monthly cash benefit while you’re disabled to help cover the regular expenses your paycheck ordinarily covers.

  3. Finally, if your injuries should result in death or have a significant impact on your life (such as loss of sight, hearing or limbs), the final layer of protection, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, is available to provide you or your surviving loved ones a lump-sum cash settlement to help ease the burdens inherent in such an unexpected and traumatic event.

You are eligible to enroll in the Group Accident Disability Insurance plan if you are a nursing professional under age 65 and actively working at least 10 hours per week (subject to state availability). Your spouse may also be eligible for coverage under this plan.
